This storyboarding exercise has allowed me to improve my skills in sketching, particularly in rendering using 2 tones. It has also further increased my understanding of the importance of perspectives within progressive images. I have thoroughly enjoyed each task presented to the class, as an engineering student I find my architecture assignments to be a nice break from mathematical equations and chemical formulas. Further information on my work can be read in previous "Rotation 3" posts.

Rotation 3 (Week / Submission 3/4): Final Submission
Week 3: Final Submission
The 5 words I have chosen to represent my work are:
Lino: The rendering style I have used in my final presentation is similar in appearance to that seen Lino printing.
Silhouette: The Lino style rendering is effective in displaying both objects and shadows in the same tone, like a silhouette.
Simple: The use of only 2 shades provides a clean, simple, precise and understandable image to the viewer. (simple can be used to describe the appearance of the image).
Complex: Although contradicting the previous word (simple), the word "complex" is used to describe the sketching process used to develop the images.
Concealed: In each vignette certain objects, surroundings, and structural elements have been concealed in order to provide greater focus to other areas.
Rotation 3 (Week / Submission 3/4): Draft Work.
1.

2.
Drafts: 1 & 2
Here are my 2 draft sketches of the site. Both sketches have a total of 12 vignettes and display a smooth transition between each. Draft #1, is a rough sketch I have developed whilst on site. Draft #2 is a more clear interpretation of draft #1 paying greater attention to detail (shading and perspective).
I have chosen to eliminate the 1st, 8th, and 12th vignettes for my final presentation in order to provide greater emphasis on the interior space and create a smoother transition between each progression.
Rotation 3 (Week / Submission 2)
Week 2: A building on campus.
For my week 2 submission I have chosen to investigate the John Niland Scientia Building and emphasise how it is located in the centre of campus. This task allowed me to build on my sketching style and provided further knowledge on the importance of "perspective" within sketches.
Rotation 3 (Week / Submission 1)
Week 1: A sketch from memory.
I've used two completely different styles of rendering between my draft and final presentation for the week one assignment, this task allowed me to further hone my skills in this "stamp" style of rendering, and furthermore, influenced me to incorporate this style into my final presentation.
